Construction and detailed design of gas pipeline in Poland

Pogorska Wola - Tworzen high pressure gas pipeline

Preparation of the construction and detailed design together with the author's supervision for the investment task "Pogorska Wola - Tworzen Gas Pipeline", carried out as part of the construction of the Hermanowice - Strachocina - Pogorska Wola - Tworzen - Tworog - Odolanow gas pipeline.

The DN1000 8.4 MPa Pogorska Wola-Tworzen gas pipeline project with a length of approx. 168 km is an important element of the North-South Gas Corridor. The gas pipeline route will pass through three voivodships - Malopolskie, Swietokrzyskie and Slaskie and was divided into three sections:

  • Pogorska Wola-Palecznica, about 78 km long
  • Palecznica-Braciejowka, about 56 km long
  • Braciejowka-Tworzen, about 34 km long

The gas pipeline is under construction now and it's planned to be completed in 2021.

Mission

This investment is aimed at increasing Poland’s energy security by dividing the gas streams and shortening the route along which gas fuel is transported and strengthening the security of gas transport in the region.
The Pogorska Wola - Tworzen high pressure Gas Pipeline is an important element of the North-South gas corridor connecting the LNG terminal in Swinoujście with the planned LNG terminal in Croatia.
The European Commission classified the project as a Project of Common Interest (PCI).

Scope of work

Antea Group was responsible for the design stage of the gas pipeline along with obtaining a set of administrative decisions. The scope of the contract included in particular:

  • obtaining an environmental decision
  • obtaining a location decision
  • execution of the executive design
  • execution of the construction project
  • obtaining a building permit decision

The implementation of the investment required as four separate decisions on the building permit.
