Growing populations and economies, changing lifestyles, and global climate change are increasing pressure on our water resources. Major water users, governments, cities, and citizens all recognize the urgent need to work together to ensure the availability of this vital resource on which we all depend. In this context, water stewardship enables water users to work together to identify and achieve common goals for sustainable water management and shared water security.
As an AWS member, Antea Group helps companies navigate the robust and comprehensive AWS Standard. Therefore, in order to enlarge its capacity and support more water users in identifying and achieving goals for sustainable water management and shared water security, experts coming from different Antea Group sister companies completed the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard System Training – Specialist Level the first week of November.
The training objective was to develop and strengthen the water stewardship knowledge of the staff working across the Antea Group organization. It included diverse perspectives from producers, retailers, investors, and policymakers to:
- Raise awareness of global water issues
- Develop a solid understanding of water stewardship good practices and benefits
- Engender water stewardship leadership
- Introduce the AWS Standard System and Assurance System
- Introduce water stewardship tools and resources
Antea Group aims to contribute to the sustainability of local water resources through AWS Standard adoption. With the completion of this training, more Antea Group practitioners are prepared to support your organization by implementing a common, independently verifiable, multi-stakeholder inclusive Standard for water stewardship.
