New gas-fired heating plant for the Michelin factory in Olsztyn, Poland

Technical Assistance and Owner's Engineer service in the construction of a new gas-fired heating plant.

Michelin Polska S.A., the owner of the tyre factory in Olsztyn, was challenged to adapt both to the new corporate guidelines and new environmental requirements set out in the latest BAT conclusions, which after a transitional period will enter into force on 17 August 2021.  After a multi-variant analysis, it was decided to replace the existing coal-fired boilers with new gas units meeting the latest environmental requirements. As a result of the tender, a General Contractor of Investment was selected, the scope of which includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a 42MWt gas boiler producing steam for Michelin’s technological needs, located in a newly-constructed building in which a second boiler will also be built.

  • Conducting a multi-option analysis of the possibility of replacing coal boilers with new sources meeting the latest environmental requirements and technological needs of the plant
  • Preparation of the base project for a selected variant in the construction of a new gas-fired boiler house
  • Preparation of the construction oroject aimed at obtaining a building permit
  • Preparation of complete tender documentation, support during the tender procedure and selection of the general contractor in the EPC
  • Owner's Engineer service
